Professional Djembe 16x26 DK75
Enormous Ivory Coast shell with a top rate hook up. Oversize djembes like this, built to professional standards, and tuned to proper tension, and very rare. The sound is cavernous, with deep bass, solid low tones, and thick, wet slaps. Because of the size of the belly and the thickness of the skin this djembe sounds and plays different from smaller djembes. This drum is suited for a larger stature drummer with experience, who is certain he/she needs a drum this large. Along with a money back guarantee, here is what this professional djembe features:
- 15.5" OSD wood, 26" full height, 11.75 " OSD base, 24 lbs
- Dark Iroko wood, solid one piece construction, uniform thickness
- Wood seasoned and handcarved in Ivory Coast, West Africa, oiled with coconut oil and shea butter
- Ultra heavy thickness goat skin from West Africa, wet shaved and hydrated with a bit of shea butter
- 5mm green/blue mix low-stretch drum rope for the 40 of vertical ropes, on second row of diamonds
- 4mm blue drum rope for top loops and bottom loops, double hitch pattern on bottom ring
- Cotton cloth used to wrap bottom and top rings
- Rope handle installed underneath the verticals gives you a place to attach your strap
- All 1/4" rings custom fitted very tight, locking in the tension
- High durometer black rubber pad permanently fixed to the bottom edge, for wood protection and playing comfort
- Professionally shaped bearing edge, curved and angled for maximum comfort and ease of sound
- Ledge carved in shell for bottom ring, helps keep even tension and straight lines
- Goat skin molded over the top ring to protect rope and for aesthetic value
- Classic Ivory Coast bands/diamonds deep carved around the base
- The pictures on the left are of the EXACT DRUM described above, not just an example; once purchased, we remove it from the website
