Professional Djembe 15X24 DK114
The brownish-orange color swirls on this exquisite piece of Iroko are beautiful, like vibrant sandstone. Hooked up with a dark grey, thick goat skin, on a 15" face, medium tension makes this a very warm, wet, deep professional djembe. With more tension this djembe will settle in at a medium wet, full, high volume sound. Along with a money back guarantee, here is what this professional djembe features:
- 14.5" OSD wood, 24.25" full height, 9.5 " OSD base, 20 lbs
- Fire swirl Iroko hardwood, solid one piece construction, uniform thickness, imported direct
- Wood seasoned and handcarved in Ivory Coast, West Africa, treated inside and outside with coconut oil and karite
- Thick cow skin from West Africa, wet shaved and hydrated with a bit of shea butter
- 5mm mix blue low-stretch drum rope for the 32 pairs of vertical ropes, first row of tuning started
- 4mm black drum rope for top loops and bottom loops, single hitch loop pattern on bottom ring
- Cotton cloth used to wrap bottom and top rings, including flesh hoop to prevent rust damage to skin
- Rope handle installed underneath the verticals gives you a place to attach your strap
- Extra tuning rope included, wrapped around neck for storage
- All 1/4" rings custom fitted very tight, locking in the tension
- High durometer black rubber pad permanently fixed around the bottom edge, for wood protection and playing comfort
- Professionally shaped bearing edge, curved and angled for maximum comfort and best sound (thick, flat angle style)
- Skin twisted above top rings, locking in the skin, and exposing the loops and adding an aesthetic element
- Simple and elegant deep carved design patterns cover bottom half of the base
- This djembe will NOT fit our Professional Djembe Case , but ask about a djembe hat
- The pictures above are of the EXACT DRUM described above, not just an example; once purchased, we remove it from the website
This djembe shell was imported by Djembe Direct and custom built for our drum workshop in Salt Lake City, UT. Kaz has built hundreds of djembes over many years, which are being played today by professional musicians all over the world.
